When I woke up the next day it was around ten in the morning. I took a shower and got dressed; I had plans to go see Nicole. When I got to the rehab center Nicole looked really sick, not like withdrawal sick, but she was pale and she seemed sluggish, they let me go visit her in her room. “Nicole what’s going on, are you ok here?”

“I don’t feel good Christian, but they won’t do anything about it!”

“What do you mean they won’t do anything about it?”

“I think I’m gonna go back to sleep” she laid back down in her bed.

“You get some sleep, I will be back!” I tucked her in and then I went out to talk to someone.

“Can I help you?”

“I want you to send her to the hospital now!”

“There’s nothing wrong with her.”

“Yes there is, now either you will call EMS or I will!” I had to take action; I wasn’t going to lose my best friend again.

“Fine!” I stayed by the nurses side until they came to get her to take her to the hospital.

I stayed with her the whole day. The doctors told me that she had a heart condition and she was going to need surgery. I left to go back to the pent house to get some rest. When I walked through the door Miguel was in the kitchen cooking. “Miguel, Nicole is sick!”

“Sick how?”

“Like she’s in the hospital and she needs to have surgery on her heart!”

“What happened?”

“It was from the drugs she was doing!” I wanted to make him feel guilty; it was partially his fault that Nicole was sick, I walked away and went to my room to lay down. My phone rang when I was on my way to sleep. “Hello?”

“Hey Chrissie pooh!” It was Nicole and she still sounded sick but she was laughing

“Hey Nikki!”

“Chris you know I love you!”

“Well duh, I don’t think you have a choice” I joked

“I know right!”

“What’s up, shouldn’t you be sleep?”

“Man I’m bored”

“How do you feel?”

“I feel great, they doping me up, but I’m happy the doctors are doing something about it, shit they were going to let me die in that rehab center”

“I know I don’t want you to go back there!”

“Chris thanks for making Miguel put me there, I was so mad at you because you were pregnant by Lorenz, but I knew in the back of my head you were telling the truth, Lorenz had a thing for you every since he met you!”

“What are you talking about Nikki?”

“I don’t know Chris, just let Miguel take care of you…he really likes you, by the way have you gave him some yet?”

“No! We’re just friends.”

“Well turn it up a notch, Miguel is better than his brother…Lorenz was a dog, he was dirty…he killed Miguel’s son six years ago, every since then Miguel wanted revenge.”

“How do you know this?”

“I did my research when I was in Florida, I wasn’t just getting high.”
